CDC’s National Healthcare Safety Network is the nation’s most widely used healthcare-associated infection tracking system. NHSN provides facilities, states, regions, and the nation with data needed to identify problem areas, measure progress of prevention efforts, and ultimately eliminate healthcare-associated infections.
In addition, NHSN allows healthcare facilities to track blood safety errors and important healthcare process measures such as healthcare personnel influenza vaccine status and infection control adherence rates.
The purpose of this requirement is to continue the development and maintenance of existing (Clinical Data Architecture) CDA implementation guides, and associate artifacts in support of HAI and AU/AR reporting to NHSN. This requirement will also establish an EHR, vendor-neutral standard and implementation guidance for electronic HAI data submissions to NHSN from LTCFs. It also includes a systematic evaluation of the current ICD-10-PCS codes and Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) codes assigned to the NHSN operative procedure categories and recommend revisions or updates to the assignments where needed.
The current incumbent is Lantana Consulting Group
Each attendee will receive the slide deck and recording.
